Painting your garage floor is not the same as putting an epoxy garage floor finish. Epoxy comprises both an epoxy resin and a hardener. Both components are blended together before being applied to your garage floor. Unlike paint, epoxy contains very little water and does not dry until a hardener is added. When the two products crosslink, the epoxy gains strength. Paint is thinner than epoxy.

Epoxy floors typically require 24 to 72 hours to cure enough for light foot traffic. You should wait at least 3 – 7 days before parking a car on it to ensure the epoxy has fully hardened and can support the weight of the vehicle without any potential damage.
Your garage floor coating should never peel, but with time, the top layer may lose its lustre. Your garage floor coating should last at least 15-20 years.
